Alpha Chapfer Leads School The Alpha Chapter of the National Honor Society played a leading role in our school. Providing much assistance, aiding students in becoming better citizens, and performing their many duties, are all examples of service to Suitland. Their varied accomplishments in- clude tutoring students who are weak in certain sub- jects, offering for sale a student handbook, and putting a Christmas tree in the cafeteria. Perhaps the most important event sponsored by the NHS is the annual Homecoming Weekend, a three-day affair consisting of a pep rally, parade, game, and dance. Officers of the National Honor Society are picked each semester. Heading the slate for this year were Al Riutort and Carol Sue Hooper, presidents, Bert Bigbee and George Pierce, vice presidents, Mari Bolling and Carol Haina, corresponding secretaries: Duane Pincuspy and Barbara Smith, recording secretaries, and Sid Bosen and Barbara Brown, treasurers.
