Through rain, snow, injury, and ineligibility the Scarlet and White grappling unit managed to com- plete the season with a 3-5 record. Facing strong learns and top men the squad was able to finish the February 24-25 Fourth Annual Metropolitan Wrestling Tournament in sixth place with 34 points. The outstanding mat-man was undefeated Dave Songco with six pins and one draw to his credit. Songco also won top honors in the 103 pound class of the wrestling tournament. Also in the tourney, Bill Grimm won second place in the un- limited class and Dan fVlitchell took fourth in the l65 pound division. Nantes prominent on anyones score card were Dave Songco, Tim Smith. Dan Nlitchell and Bill Grimm. Also lacing high ere lioh Jenkins and john Mr-Ewan. The captain was Steve Dickinson. Baseball Nine Turn In Good Performance Living up to advance notice, the 1956 baseball team wound up their slate posting a fair won-lost record. An accelerated finish was the only highspot of the campaign, although the pitching of John Sesso, aroused a few cheers on the Ram front. Their offense, paced by Bob Shelton, Rudy Calub, Rick Cusick, and Bobby Jenkins was more than HALF FAIR-On a jaunt from first to third. Daw Boggs contemplates aiming for home. adequate, but it couldnit offset their seive-like defense. Coach Hudson has 90 percent of his charges re- turning, and should easily make a run for the Bi- county crown next year. Even with this in mind, seniors John Sesso, Jack Stueckler, Denny Donaldson, Frank Constantino, Mike Mitchell, Ronny Snyder and Jimmy Wine will be sorely missed.
