Through rain, snow, injury, and ineligibility the Scarlet and White grappling unit managed to com- plete the season with a 3-5 record. Facing strong learns and top men the squad was able to finish the February 24-25 Fourth Annual Metropolitan Wrestling Tournament in sixth place with 34 points. The outstanding mat-man was undefeated Dave Songco with six pins and one draw to his credit. Songco also won top honors in the 103 pound class of the wrestling tournament. Also in the tourney, Bill Grimm won second place in the un- limited class and Dan fVlitchell took fourth in the l65 pound division. Nantes prominent on anyones score card were Dave Songco, Tim Smith. Dan Nlitchell and Bill Grimm. Also lacing high ere lioh Jenkins and john Mr-Ewan. The captain was Steve Dickinson. XYith a small number of the Umanglersu gradu- ating. the canvas men will have a strong experi- enced nucleus with which to face a hopeful '57 season.
