Suifland Gridders Suffer iWorsf Season Since '52 The Ram football squad of 1955, although show- ing great promise, never quite lived up to expecta- tions as they only managed to tie one and win one out of a seven Game season. C The highpoint of the season was the losing cause to traditional rival, Northwestern. Suitland dropped this contest to the Wildcats, 13-12, in the last seconds of play by missing an extra-point attempt. The gridder's one taste of victory came in their third game which was against Bethesda-Chevy Chase. whom they defeated 12-6. Another memorable battle occurred in the mud- soaked Rockville contest which ended in a deadlock. Jim Sita. senior end, and Junior Calub, junior quarterback, were co-captains of the Rams this season. Coach Walter Fedora was assisted by Mr. Romeo Rocca. line coach, and lVlr. Art Kirkland. backfield coach. Suitland's Junior Varsity football team, coached by Mr. Kirkland, came through to win their last game out of six contests. Although the team had comparatively little practice, they improved with each game. Coach Walt Fedora gives last minute instruction to co-captains Jim Sita and Junior Calub.
