Dean Stancliff tells the Bible Club who next week's speaker will be. Discussion Of Bible Furfhers Understanding The Bible Club, sponsored by Mrs. Stecca, was organized to create fellowship for those interested in Christ and the Bible, and to encourage further growth in a knowledge of Christian living. Dean Stancliff, presidentg Betty Davis, vice-presi- dentg and Gwen Hathcock, secretary-treasurerg lead the club through an active second year of attending Youth For Christn meetings, making Easter baskets for poor children in the community, and listening to the speeches of distinguished religious leaders, Dale Crawley and Don Rosenburger. D. E. Course Helps To Produce Good Drivers To encourage good driving and safe- ty habits, the driver training class was held for the sophomores who were fif- teen years of age or older. The program, instructed by Mr. Vin- cent Ford, allowed each student to drive at least one hour a week and to spend one hour in the classroom. To pass the course, the sophomores were required to prove that they could exhibit a proper attitude toward the car as well as the necessary ability to maneuver it. The Archery Club is designed to promote interest in archery and to teach the essentials of target shoot- ing. During the spring and fall months. tournaments were held to determine archery Champions. The purpose of the Chess Club is to stimulate inter- est in Chess and to provide a free time activity. Throughout the year the Club holds tournaments with other high schools to determine champions.
