C LAS S HISTCRY The following is a log of the four year voyage taken by the Class of I95k, to the North Pole, the symbol of Eskimo success A shivering group of young Freshmen Eskimos gingerly took an all important step as they set foot into a well worn kayak in September of I950 The helpful guides pointed out the way and warned the brave group of the dangerous Arctic currents lurking in their path As sophomores, these youthful explorers had gained nauti cal experience and had ventured deep into the vast Arctic wilderness Still unsure of their destination they realized When the current flowed smoothly, the group would land on adrift ice floats for Eskimo style recreat1on While Juniors, they were certaln they could sight the North Pole shining far off in the frozen North In September of I953, the couragous class began the final year of their voyage With the1r advisors and guides directing them onward, an with systematic strokes by every one in the kayak, the group seemed sure to reach its goal The icy silence of the Northern Area 13 broken now by the radiation of happiness, hope, and humility from the Class of I95h sitting proudly atop the North Pole waving their well deserved diplomas d the need for paddling the kayak together to reach success.

Life is r e And the grave is not its goalg ' KLongfellowl When these lines literally exploded from the pen of the beloved children's poet, the basic belief of a youthful nation was pungently summarized Our nation's fortune from that time has arisen and fallen in direct ratio to the extent have personally accepted that shall also be directed by the As the first yearbook of Joint High School goes to our fellow's message be a part of to which its people belief Our future same force the Northern Area people, may Mr Long its every feature May it, its successive editions, and the school system which they interpret be one gigantic force which is dedicated to making this concept a vital and tangible reality which will assist in guiding an enlightened society through a benighted and divided fwzffff V1-Zag, world THIS IS OUR MASTERPIECE Our entire lives are involved in what we do They are out masterpiece, and every activity we take part in helps to determine the strength of the character we are building Character is power and the one foundation stone upon which one must build to win recognition for his own masterpiece We are all individuals, and we are intended to have a masterpiece of our own which ls what no other ls and which should accomplish that which no other can do.
