C LASS HISTORY To wrlte the hlstory of the class of 51 1nvolves certam rather lrregular circumstances whlch make a complete and comprehenslve hlstory a dnffxcult task to complete Because of the number of school d1str1cts whlch are represented and because of the number of schools whxch are mvolved m the hlgh school hlstory of the port1ons of our class, we are present 1ng br1ef h1stor1es of all groups whxch are now mcluded 1n our class The Farmmgton Townshxp portlon of the class attended the Farmmgton Townshlp I-hgh School, Lander, Pennsylvama durmg 1ts mnth year Mr Jury Mr Rossell, and Mrs Rosendahl were the teachers of that school at that t1me, and the followxng people were chos en as officers of the fourteen member class Pres1dent Damel Burgett Secretary Genevxeve Carlson Vlce Presldent Harold Enos Treasurer Lewis McIntyre Edxtor Lowell White These students became a part of the sophomore class of the Sugar Grove Farmmgton Iomt Hxgh School ln September of the next school year The port1on of the class whlch comes from Freehold Townshxp was the last group to enter our class These people graduated from the elghth grade of the Lottsvllle Grade School on May 23 1947 All members then attended the Youngsville Hlgh School durmg the ninth, tenth, and eleventh years, and part remamed mYoungsv1lle and the rema1ndertra.ns ferred to Sugar Grove Farmmgton at the begmmng of our semor year The Sugar Grove Borough and Sugar Grove Townshnp groups entered grade nine toget her in Sugar Grove There were twenty one members, and they chose the following officers President Gary Davis Secretary Patricia Abbott Vice President Gail Frank Treasurer Maynard Sweeney When we began our sophomore year, we had lost seven of our origmal members be cause of illness or quitting school This loss was more than compensated by the influx of members of the class from Lander These two groups comprised our class until the begin ning of our senior year When we returned to school m September, 1950 and entered our semor year, we wel comed a group of sur new classmates who came to us from Freehold Townshlp The story of thxs year's act1v1ty IS contamed 1n the pages of th1s book As graduation day approaches, we can not help but feel grateful that we have been permitted to become acquamted with each other in the work and play wh1ch accompames high school hfe . . , . . . . . , . - , . . .
