The Library Club through its members strives to stimulate interest in reading. Library Club members assist the libra¬ rian in charging and shelving books and magazines, maintaining a up-to-date vertical file, and doing a complete in¬ ventory of the library. A yearly project is the collection of toys at Christmas. Our club was host to the Smyth County Student Librarians Association this spring. The Glee Club is composed of students who meet once a week for group singing. Some of the things the members learn are how to sing in a group, how to pronounce words while singing, and how to follow the director ' s motions. This year the Glee Club studied the different types of folk songs. The group prepared a program of Christmas music to sing for the patients at Southwestern State Hospital.
