Mahoney. t)epartment d3u5ineS5 Administration In the department of Business Administration the student acquires a background in liberal arts and professional training in the field of business. Majors are offered in Accounting, Marketing, and Business Management. The courses are designed to in- troduce the student to the business world in action. All forms of accounting and audit- ing are covered; principles of management, transportation, and personnel administration are explored; and retailing, wholesaling, adve rtising, marketing, and sales and market research are studied. Business organization, finance, contracts and agency, sale and business associations, negotiable instruments, production, legal aspects of business, taxation, and investments are all covered in separate courses. 10

The economic history of Europe and the United States is traced along with the history of economic thought and comparative economic systems. Social reform movements, business cycles, money and banking, international trade, and labor economics are all emphasized in the program of this department. I I
