Jacqueline Almond It Does Get Easier As the spirited Sophomores proved, High School life does get easier and even more fun. This enthusiastic class proved their spirit during Homecoming week by continuing their first place win their float Hols that Tiger. The sophomores also have a large Faye Arrington representation on the cheering squads boosting school spirit at the games. The sophomores had to take the math competency tests and some took the PSAT ' s. So as the adjustments to high school life gets easier the work does get harder. Freshmen Get Adjusted On Aug 26, the Friday before school started, the auditorium was filled with many excited freshmen. These students showed up for the orientation assembly, where they were introduced to the school and staff. Mr. Hill and Mr. Jones familiarized new students with the school rules and regulations, as well as what to from the new school year. Mrs. Alwood also welcomed the new students to Suffolk High and introduced peer facilitators who then showed them to their homeroom classes. Orientation day was a success although as always you could easily pick freshmen from the crowd on the first day of school. High school life is quite different, as the freshmen soon found out. There were a great many adjustments to be made. During homecoming week the freshmen got acquainted with flat beds, paints and napkins. Although their float Cage the Tigers ' ' came in fourth place they became more aware of what to do; and enjoyed Homecoming week just the same. The activities were new to them but they hung right in, and their school spirit has increased as the year progressed. As you can see, these freshmen are really enthusiastic about Health class.
