We screamed wildly but to no avail as we made idiots out of ourselves at the first Pep Ral¬ ly. Thousands of car washes made many suds but not many dollars. Often times we drowned our sorrows. Mrs. Smoolca avoided the water. It was evident from our debut that it would be a long road. If we only had a brain. Soph Further on down the road there were rumors that the square stone and a baboon on the side were supposed to be the class rings. We were tickled blue and white to learn VICTORY was ours with a yellow toilet paper cow. It was better than baboons. We took heart in our tinny existence knowing half the road was behind us. 104 Junior Mrs. Smoolca flew in from the west to take com¬ mand. Class cheerleaders threw their chests out in an effort to kick off the candy sale. While breaking sales records obesity and nausea abounded. Skipping merrily down the yellow brick road. The haunted forest scared many a male away (courage). However the Scarborough Fair proved to be a hearty romp for some, especially the Polish munchkins as we polka along the yellow brick road. Rhonda was chosen Queen of the forest. As poppy fields bloomed, the gates of the Emerald City loomed into sight. And there came a new awakening. Courage! Senior At the onset our interests were stirred by Mr. Sini- crope in efforts to combat our captivity and open the cam¬ pus. Ears became scarce as hair grew long and the road grew short. Our minds left munchkinland and in shifting priori¬ ties, the magazine drive was left behind. Shades of mun¬ chkinland resulted in caps and gowns. The Senior Sno-Ball provided good times for those with money. Elsewhere poor people had a ball. There hadn ' t been as much excitement since the house fell from the sky. All munchkinland was up in arms over the controversy of Student Government, as Council became Association, and then ceased to be. Looking through the crystal ball a fog set in as many of us were uncertain of what lay ahead. Some reached Oz before others. One thing is certain, all await with anticipation our departure from munchkinland and the final celebration at Emerald City. At last, at the end of the rainbow we can look back and say there ' s no place like home.
