“
Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans; so let us begin . . . presented by the class of 1970 you have to make the good times yourself, take the little times and make them into big times and save the times that are all right for the ones that aren’t so good. 4 If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. and circles lead to other places than confusion. 6 to think of me knee-deep in nuid when I so love the sand. 10 For every disappointment there is someone who can make us smile. Sometimes I’m so elusive I miss the things worth stopping for. There will still be little things our memories will keep. We, at this moment belong to a generation whose lips are touched by fire. Now passing thru one of its crises, the human race thrives on new ideas, new f issues — a new call for us to carry on the work of righteousness, charity, courage, patience and loyalty — all these things have come and are daily coming to us. With our ageing, memories bring hack moments to our minds. Let these memories say: That was a great moment . . . the beginning of a new era. We studied, we loved, we labored, unsparingly and hopeful, to be worthy of our generation.
