Filled with Many Memories... 8 Here We Learned the Value of Knowledge... and Good Sportsmanship As the First Graduating Class of the New High School , We Hope the Ideals Carried on in the Past Will Continue to Progress in the Future. 9 ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY On behalf of the Suffield Board of Education, I wish to extend to you congratulations on your accomplishments at Suffield High School. My best wishes go with you as you leave us to face new educational and vocational challenges. Your class will be known as the first to gradu¬ ate from the new high school building. It is our hope that you will take particular pride in this and will con¬ tinue in your alumni association to show an active in¬ terest in this school which you helped to develop. Superintendent of Schools (A.B., M.A., Ed.D.) ADMINIS Congratulations to the first class to graduate from the new Suffield High School. Graduation marks a turning point in your life. You must make decisions soon which affect your future. Should you find employment now or prepare for your future with further schooling? I know you will face up to them and come up with the right choice. Your yearbook will soon be filled with “Good Luck” wishes from your classmates and friends. I would also like to add my good wishes to you. Assistant Superintendent of Schools (B.S., M.Ed.) 12 Although your high school years have terminated, and for many, courses toward new horizons already charted, the process of education, the building of character and integrity should continue to wax strong. Emerson expressed it simply: “The things taught in schools and colleges are not an education, but the means of education.” While in college or in the myriad of vocations many of you will enter immediately, take advantage of what you have been exposed to here at Suffield High. Utilize it to become truly educated. Strive to become good doctors, lawyers, teachers, tradesmen and more important good husbands, wives, mothers and fathers—individuals con¬ cerned enough about other people to influence change and make this a better country and world in which to live. Principal (A.B., Ed.M.) TRATION My first vivid impressions of Suffield ' s students and ad¬ ults have not dimmed after being exposed to the town for several months. I continue to be heartened and pleas¬ antly surprised by the town ' s belief in education, by its faith in its educational leaders, and by its solid monetary backing of education. In many towns where I have lived and taught, the pre¬ vailing attitude seemed to have been, “What ' s good enough for me is good enough for my children.” In Suffield, the attitude is obviously more progressive. “What was good enough for me, is not good enough for my children.” The resulting first class education of Suffield ' s future taxpayers and decision makers presents unlimited advantages. This heritage of sacrifice by the present generation in order that the next may be better able to cope with its future responsibilities is both ad¬ mirable and sensible. I sincerely hope that you, the Senior Class of 1966 , will carry on this vital tradition. Assistant Principal (B.A., M.Ed.) 13 Bob A.
