This ended the game, Sufiield's first victory, and Suffield's first game. The following week, Suf1ield's team practiced to meet a little-known-about Williston Academy team. When Saturday came, Williston faced us with a light backfield but an extremely fast and good one It was a very close game with Capialm 0 me Six Games Williston showing very well As thc game wore on it was quite evident that it vias to be decided by a break This break came as Coleman faded back to Williston s thirty five yard line and fired a pass to johnson who caught it on his fingertips on the twenty yard line and scampered across the Williston goal line after tip toemg down the side line One Williston player followed him far into the end zone and even then missed his tackle This ended the game a great victory for Suffield Looking forward to the following Saturday the boys anticipated a tough game with Kingswood an undefeated team In the first half we threatened the Kingswood team continually but could not score Finally in the fourth quarter Mal King plunged two yards for the games only score We failed to make the point after touchdown Kingswood then took to the air but completed only one pass and so failed to score before the game ended The following weekend the team faced a powerful Amherst JV team which was more than our equal and had a fine defense Although our team fought hard we were overcome with Amherst scoring in both halves The final score was 15 0 Our next game was against Westminster Academy In the first half we just could not seem to get started and the half ended with a scoreless tie In the third quarter upon receiving the ball we marched for a touchdown with Coleman passing to johnson for the score Again we failed to make the point after Westminster Co Captains struck back on the ground and marched down the field to tie the score in the fourth period They too missed the extra point and the score read 6 6 With time ticking away with only three mmutes fr 'W Q y left we received the kick At this Coleman and Johnson got show with Coleman passing to X N.
