Mathematics The Mathematics Department, chaired by Mr. Ed- ward Marcantonio, is one of the finest Mathematics Departments in the country. All students must com- plete Elementary Algebra, Geometry and Intermedi- ate Algebra-Trigonometry. Qualified students may choose from the following electives: Modern Analy- sis, Calculus, Computer Math, the History of Math- ematics or Unified Mathematics. The Mathematics Department sponsors the Math Society and supervises the publication of the MATH SURVEY. It is also in charge of the Math Resource Center, which allows students to undertake indepen- dent studies. The Math Team, under the guidance and coaching of Mr. Barry Glotzer, has continued to excel in national and international competition. Mrs. Anna Tunis retired and Mrs. Susan Brustein joined the department due to the tragic death of Mrs. Irene Finkel.
