M, .5 k 'PV' . mai i Ralph Ferrara Grade Advisors are specially skilled in guidance they try to keep in tune with student problems and offer personal, financial, educational, vocational, emotional, and family guidance. When considering personal guidance, grade advisors handle problems such as student adjustment to the school, his fellow students and to his teachers. They will also contact students if either their conduct or attendance falls below what is considered average. Grade Advisors try to inform the students about the activities in school as well as outside school. Hefshe is the person a student should seek when inquiring about programs, colleges, jobs, tutoring, and just about anything else. COLLEGE ADVISOR -s i, Myron Wechsler 12 I I W1 GRADE ADVISORS ,.,.f-'A Seated: Carol Katz, Beverly Katz, Jo-Ellen Good, Maryann Ferrara, Ruth Ann Canter. Standing: Ralph Ferrara, Electra Demas, Leslie Rosen, Harold Gross, jacques Crosby, Bennett Strudler, Suigene Au-Kim, Stuart Weinberg, Kurt Ritterman. Mr. Myron Wechsler is the trained and licensed Guidance Counselor responsible for individual and group college counselling choices, acedemic achievement, and problems in these areas. Mr. Wechsler also acts as college information and training resource person for faculty, staff and grade advisors. Mr. Wechsler heads the College Office which distributes information concerning CEEB, ACT, and other tests, financial aid and scholarships, visits and interviews with college admissions officer, College Night, college career conferences, and college application processing, The College Office maintains liason with the colleges, Board of Education, and private and public social agencies in order to assist students. College Office Bulletins are distributed weekly, and the College Office has an open door policy.

Murray Kahn Asslstant Principal Admlnistration Mr. Murray Kahn is the assistant principal involved with the entrance of new students into Stuyvesant and the programming for both teachers and students. Mr. Harold Lehrman is the assistant principal in charge of pupil personnel services. He is constantly involved with the problems of attendance,,lateness and cutting. The Department Assistant Principals develop techniques of teaching and curriculum, organize new courses, and make sure that a high level of instruction is maintained. Their function as deans involves trying to solve any problems which might arise, be it a disciplinary problem or any other problem which occurs over the course of a Stuyvesant career. Mr. Glotzer are always willing to lend a hand to any student who needs them. P R OA GD RV AI MS MO IR N G . Vivan Gluck Y, Barry Glotzer ii C H A I R M A N Anthony DePalma The program committee, which is responsible for putting together teachers, students, and subjects in the right place at the right time chaired by Mr. DePalma, who assisted by Mrs. Gluck, and ably served by a devoted group of students. According to the preliminary student responses to the Committee semi-yearly survey known as the Program Plan Card, the Committee prepares the master schedule of classes. 13
