ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS QACTIN GJ Mr. Murray Kahn is the Acting Assistant Prin- cipal in charge of school organization. In spite of the multitudinous problems that the organization of a school entails and the many demands upon his time, Mr. Kahn insists on teaching the Ad- vanced Placement Chemistry Course. It is obvious that teaching is Mr. Kahn's first love. ' Mr. Kahn's former experience with program- ming and with school organization, his patience and his interest in the welfare ofthe students and teachers will serve him in good stead in the exac- ting and demanding post he now fills. Mr. Kahn Mr. Harold M. Lehrman has been Acting Assistant Principal for the past three years. His duties range over a wide Held. He deals with the problems of attendance, lateness, cutting, general discipline and with the frequent emergencies that arise in the school. His former experience as Dean has prepared him well for this very sensitive post. His thoroughness, his efficiency and his calm manner in meeting the many school problems, contribute greatly to the smooth functioning of the school. Mr. Lehrman

HIGH SCHSBE 345 EAST I5+h STREET, NEW YORK. NEW YORK IOOO3 Gaspar R Fabbricante ORegon 3 9030 Prmclpal Dear Graduates: As we look back over the microcosmic history of Stuyvesant High School and fit it into the macrocosmic view of our country and world, it is easy to see that our school has always reflected the times. At the start of this century when huge numbers of tempest- tossed immigrants came to our shores, Stuyvesant played a leading role in educating their first generation children for positions of leadership in a growing America. During the years of the first World War, Stuyvesant graduates made their personal sacrifices and contributions on the field of battle and in the field of science. During the great de- pression of the '3O's, against enormous odds of poverty and deprivation, Stuyvesant' s sons achieved notable aca- demic success. Again, during the second World War, Stuyvesant alumni played a role in stamping out the scourge' of tyranny in the world. Our boys and girls cried out in an- guish during the '60's at injustice at home and a war in Asia that seemed endlessand hopeless. I expect and hope that Stuyvesant will always be a mirror image of the world. May it now begin to reflect a new and growing concern in our country for the downtrodden and dis- advantaged and for the prospect that a new found peace abroad may be translated into tranquillity and brother- hood at home. You young women and men of the Class of 1975 have brighter prospects for happiness and success than any class before you in recent memory. Make the most of this new dawn by ap- plying all your energies to the rich, personal fulfillment of your lives and the lives of others. Hearty congratulations on your graduation. Cordiallv.
