Administration As our high school years draw to a close, we fondly begin to remember many of our experiences. It is at this time we start to wonder who was behind the scenes, and to whom we owe the credit for the extraordinarily high level of our school's activities. It is the hard working, dedicated school administrators, whom many of us tend to forget because we have little personal contact with them, but it is this handful of people who perform those vital tasks of coordinating activities, tying loose ends together and, in reality, are responsible fowr the running of the school. As Principal, Dr. Leonard J. Fliedner is constantly striving to maintain the line reputation which the school has always en- joyed. The problems he must face every year are legion, and so he must rely upon the aid of his Administrative Assistants. Mr. Jacob Wortman is in charge of the organization of the school. He is responsible for the designing of the master program, the administration of the entrance examinations, the selection of students, and the supervision of all school records. In addition to these duties, Mr. Wortman serves as the liaison between the school and the Parents' and Alumni Associations. Dr. William S. Roeder is in charge of the assembly programs, school safety and discipline, announcements, Hnal examinations, and is co-ordinator of the guidance program. As administrator in charge of discipline, Dr. Roeder is assisted by Mr. Edward McGarry. The administrative team is rounded, out by Mr. Barnet Simon, Program Chairman, and by the two people best known to the Seniors-Mr. Irving Astrachan and Mrs. Sylvia Brody. Mr. Astra- chan, Senior Dean and College Advisor, comes in contact with Seniors as they make their all-important decisions about their post- high-school years. As Senior Advisor, Mrs. Brody directs the many social activities of the Senior Class. She also serves as a full time guidance counselor and grade advisor to one-third of our Senior Class. Counseling the other two-thirds are grade advisors Mr. Myron Wechsler and Mr. Julius Raphael. Let us not forget the fine secretarial staff which performs its numerous invaluable daily tasks.
