The Pegleg Cross-Country Squad has once more executed a very successful season. Under the adroit supervision of Mr. Moses Davis, the Harriers captured a gold trophy by placing 3rd in the PSAL Manhattan Championships. The season's best individual time was run by Captain Jon Craine, who was clocked at 14:33 for the tortuously hilly 2h mile trek. Other seniors on the team were Richie Gerson, Peter Ziemba, Edme Richen, Lanny Hecker, and Ben Davidian. The 1962-63 season looked very promising for Stuyvesant's Track Team with the return of many medal winners. The Cinder- men immediately began the season by crushing the High School of Printing, 61-11, and devastating the Brooklyn Tech team, 72-27, in the first two indoor dual meets. Captain George Kolodiy led the team, recording excellent times of 23.8 seconds in the 220-yard dash and 54.8 seconds in the quarter mile. The team then went on to defeat Sheepshead Bay, 55-44, Seward Park, 47-7, and Madison, 63-27, to complete an undefeated indoor season. Strong in spirit and ability, the team's goal was to present Coach Davis with a Manhattan Championship in both indoor and outdoor competition.
