MONG with the Senior Council, the Indicator Staff is perhaps the most important Senior organization in Stuyvesant, for it is the job of this group to provide an enduring link between the graduate and his Alma Mater. We, of the current staff, have tried to put out a book the graduate may display with pride, and treasure for many years to come. In selecting our theme, we tried to choose one that would always remind the alumnus of the spirit of the times when he was in his last year at Stuyvesant. In planning the Indicator as a whole, we endeavored to include those hits of Stuyvesant lore that would bring back the most pleasant memories. If we have conveyed this mood to you, we shall consider our efforts well rewarded.

lN MEMQRIAM Sinclair l. Wilson Everyone who met Mr. Wilson was immediately impressed by his handclasp. It was warm and friendly, yet resolute and un- swerving. It was Mr. Wilson through and through. In it were reflected the years of untiring effort in the field of education as the strong, yet kindly principal of Stuyvesant High School. It is rare that a man of such qualities can be found, rarer still that all those traits be so directed as to bring such good to all about him. In spite of his poor health, he was active in a great number of widely separated fields. War effort organizer, teacher, principal, and innumerable other titles fitted him perfectly. Yet with all of his interests, Stuyvesant and its students were the cause nearest his heart. Largely through his efforts the high standards of the school were maintained and Stuyvesant was given a name which is almost 'without equal. He was always ready and willing to talk things over with a student. With Mr. Wilson there was always consideration-always a friendly and sympathetic attitude. The firm hand has indeed left us, but its spirit remains forever with Stuyvesant. '
