The Hi-Y A Clubs all over the country -are sponsored by the Y. M. C. A. and at their 'wi meetings they. discussed various religious,. civic, social, and scholastic ju questions. Their motto is '.'Clean Speech, Clean Living, Clean Athletics, and Clean Scholarship. The organization suppfo-rtis all things which tend to 'develop S.'H. Sfandthe pre-sent slougan is We must have a gym. The members arenot' limited to Classes but every .student is entitled to mem- bership. Meetintgs are held every Monday evening in the High School auditoriuimaind-,much interest has been shown under the leadership of l gt Superintendent Shultz. . Many Clubs have been organized at S. H. S. but few have created i 1 the enthusiasm displayed by the Peppers. The membership of this Club has been strictly confined to the Junior and Senior Classesg its ob- : Ject was to create enthusiasm and aid athletics. The Club was organized under the leadership of Mrs. B. R. Meidinger. My The Pepper Club has had some very interesting and enjoyable meetings and the Slogan was, Back up the boys on the Gridiron. Some of the members are leaving with the Class in May and it is their wish U, that the Peppers of the future will uphold the traditions that have been QV, fought for-the traditions of Sturgis High. May they always be -on the field with the Bla-ckand Gold Warriors, urging them on to victory with l that well-known Sturgis Pep. Patronage soon out-grew the equipment and neceslsit-ated closing it to provide more dishes, tables and a larger H S dining room. Tfhe new cafeteria was opened three weeks before Christ- mas. The profi-ts were very gratifyinxg to the committees and the bene- fits of hot lunches, the social hour at noon, and the presence of the i mothers in charge, Were an incentive to 'both the teachers and pupilsiof the school. Sturgis High School has made history in having this pio- neer cafeteria of model .service made possible by the loyal Work of the Parent-Teachers Association. Y 489-.. wmv .
