His twenty-seven years of loyal and energetic service as coach, teacher, and advisor proves him to be the true Spirit of S.H.S. His position in our school is the spark that sets all branches of our educational program into operation. This is why the senior class proudly dedicates their yearbook to Principal Robert Miller. ga 2isEgZ,,?5?Z,g2g:T'15. f M-Lessig 'Q 1, -'sg' 'Y' 'es-,we Martha Young, Editor Richard T.R. At the beginning of the school year they sponsored a dance, The Football Frolic which was a big success. The cheerleaders sold pompoms at a few football games, and at the Home- coming game they sold mums. This was done to raise money for their new uniforms which arrived in the middle of the year. Varsity's new uniforms are sweaters with a dilferent emblem, new collars, their own name on the back of their sweater, orange tights, and black skirts. The reserve squad may be distinguished from the varsity in that they have last year's sweaters and skirts, orange tights, and their name on the back of their sweaters. squads are as follows: Varsity: Judy Meter, captain, Mary Finlay, Judy Carole Theisman. It was originated late in the spring of 1951 under the capable direction of Myron D. Casner, director of the choral department. The members, chosen from the chorus for music ability, voice quality, experience, and willingness to work, wear royal blue robes with white collars. Although the choir boasts a membership of thirty, it is somewhat smaller than in previous years, due to the small amount of male participants. Besides engaging in the numerous school festi- vities such as the spring music festival, the seasonal assem- blies, and commencement ceremonies, the chorus has had many outside engagements. iczak, Mary Olds, Sher- ker, Susan Melvin Van .?. A huge painting of Roman ruins made the setting complete. Queen Sherrill Kershner was escorted up a green grassy path to her throne, where she was crowned with a sparkling gold crown by the President of the Junior Class, Bob McLaughlin. After taking her place on the throne, her court: Jane Blackburn, Karen Kitson, Diane Potter, and Martha Young stood on either side of her.
