T. N. T. vs. 3.2 I-'arming is a science these days. So we rising farmers study Horticulture and Animal Husbandry from Nlr. Perry. To prove our future ability we have three projects a year, all of which are exe- cuted in a deep, dark valley, surrounded by high bluffs. Mr. Marble takes Hut his trusty notebook and expounds on electricity and the spectrum, sound, and mechanical energy in his Physics class. At times, when the students have thought their lives in danger of suffocation, it has been Hr. Grim's Chemistry class mixing and testing and boiling various evil-smelling concoctions. How we delight in pulling petals off flowers and legs off bugs and peeking at tiny niggling germs under the microscope in the Biology classes of all three! My dear sirs: YVe are not forced to go from Sturgis High into the cruel, cold world without some protection. VVe take typing, shorthand, and book- keeping from Mrs. Handy and Miss VVillialns. VVe learn to cook and sew from Miss Bostleman and Mrs. Bucknell. VVe learn all about automobiles, we learn how to hammer nails, and varnish and polish, and we learn to draw all these things from Mr. Carpenter and Nlr. Borgerding. Me too, me too Practically the whole school yocalizes manfully for Nlrs. .-Xmendt. Lustily they sing for the operetta and Glee flub and various special assemblies. The .-Xrt classes under Nlrs. Scherer take paint brush in hand and lo, many great and wonderous things are wrought. They weave, they paste, they sketch and the outcome is exhibited once a year in the Gym. Mr. Miller and Miss Fleming coach the boys and girls in the art of keeping physically fit.
