They invited the older members of the Community to the school for refreshments. Later in the year they held a Sock Hop for the school. The year concluded with a pizza party for the members. 68

Band Every morning the band of Sturgeon R-V was heard tuning up for their first hour class. The band was under the direction of Mrs. Mary L. Brashears. The band played the traditional Pomp and Circumstance for the graduation. A Flea Market was held May 1st to earn money for new band uniforms. This is the first year that fourth graders were allowed to particiapte in the band.
