Convention Fun Time The National Honor Society started the year by sponsoring the Sock Hop for the high school. In March they installed the new members for the coming year. March 13-14 they went to Kansas City to the State Convention. In April they sponsored the Bundle Days and went on a Red Cross Drive. The sponsors this year were Mrs. Esteppe and Mr. C. Bartee. 43

STUDENT COUNCIL STUDENT COUNCIL: Mr. Johnson, Janet Herrin, Ray Smith, Connie Kanatzar, Homer Reed, Kim Robinson, Gerry Jennings, Kay Smith, Mrs. Claybrook. The Student Council started off the year by helping in the concession stand during the baseball season. Cairo was our guest for our Homecoming. We suc- cessfully sponsored the annual Christmas Dance, with the Coachmen providing the music. Christmas trees were also cut for every room. It was quite a suc- cessful year for the Student Council, thanks to the help of our sponsors, Mrs. Claybrook and Mr. Johnson. 44
