C i JJ - J li. tor 1 Twelve years ago the Senior Class of ’A9 or most of it, walked through various doors of different school buildings’ for the first time to settle down to begin studies. Our high school career began with 20 enrolled in our class. The first of the year was very miserable for us because we had to bow to upper classmen and wear our clothes wrong side out. Several parties occurred during our first year. Our Sophomore year was wonderful. Enrolled in our class were 20, but as the days went by this number was reduced to 17. Our first entertainment of the year was a party given in honor of the Freshmen class. The party was held on George Kent’s farm. On our way to the farm we had a flat tire, Jimmy Bugg backed into a ditch, and Mr. Wilson got lost. Finally we arrived safely. We attended several parties during the year and also a St. Patrick's Day Dinner. The highlights of our Junior year were the play, How Co ild You, Mom? and our Junior-Senior banquet. We’ were also proud that our candidate for queen, Betty Jo. Carr, took second place at Homecoming. At last we are just about to take up a new career. Our high school days are almost over. We Seniors are now ready to step out for our selves to make our own way. Some will go on to college others will do various things. Those going all four years to Sturgeon High School are Jane Bartee, Betty Carr, Cora Lou Robinson, Eldred Bowne, Dwight Heath, Sidney Seymour, Albert Jesse, Mary Blanche Roberts and Bobby Willis. One student enrolled close to the end of our freshmen year. She was Doris Hartshorn of Mexico. In our Junior year another came to finish her last two years in Sturgeon, She was Pat Schult of St. Louis. Three new students enrolled in our Senior year. They were Bonita Wybert of Des Moines, Iowa, Lucille Hamilton of Clark, and Betty Hill of Macon. Now v e are looking forward to the banquet and Baccalaureate but most of all to Commencement night when we receive our diplomas. s
