In recognition of this great service, theJeb Staff, on behalf of the Seniors of 1960 and the rest of Stuart High School, would like to offer these two simple words to our faculty-- THANK YOU. Editor A D M 0 N 3 9 Our Principal... Mr. W. B. Watkins Prior to this year Mr. Watkins has given to the Jeb Staff a message for the Sen¬ iors. This year, however, being a very special one, we, the Jeb Staff and Seniors of 1960 would like to say to the man who, throughout our years at Stuart High has gained our love and certain¬ ly our respect, that we think ourselves indeed fortunate to have been as¬ sociated with a man who has given so much to us not only informal education, but al¬ so education in sportsman¬ ship and the ability to live with our fellow man. To Mr. Watkins we offer our gratitude for helping make our years at Stuart High ones which we will remem¬ ber all our lives. 10 K Mr. J. V. Law Mr. J. C. It is an intra-curriculum activity, having its origin and root in a definite part of the school curriculum--vocational agriculture. Among other things, members learn through active participation how to conduct and take part in a public meeting, to speak in public, to buy and sell cooperatively, to solve their own problems, to finance themselves, and to assume civic responsibility. The foundation upon which the Future Farmers of America organization is built includes leadership and character development, sportsmanship, co¬ operation, service, thrift, scholarship, improved agriculture, organized recreation, citizenship and patriotism. At Stuart High sports play an important part in the activities of the year, but we find that all is not play as it may seem. Into each game goes days and weeks of hard practice and planning. We at Stuart have had losing and winning teams, but from each lose and each victory we have learned. Stuart Highprides itself in the sportsmanship that it has displayed through¬ out the athletic events and we think that we have gained much, both in phys¬ ical skill and in the fine skill of friendship. John Jarrell Bill Harnsberger xyf . i . i.W You had better worry. You have a long way to go. Hi 1 ' L -r r tffilifl ft l V IBHpA As someone enters the elementary building he will probably be confronted with a group of people who contrast greatly in appearance. Some are very small, some quite big; some quiet, some loud; but although there is a varia¬ tion in physical appearance most of them rea¬ lize they are moving toward a common goal - a fuller life through education. Editor 69 Mr. Edmund Greer Elementary Principal r Of course, behind any high school student there have been years of elementary training. In these early years of educa¬ tion the interest, enthusiasm, behavior, and paths of the students are molded by their first teachers. To be able to do such a task a teaching staff must be gentle, but stern, understanding, patient and dedicated. We at Stuart are fortu¬ nate in having just such a staff.
