CLASS HISTORY As we, the seniors of ' 54, Get ready to leave Stuart High We wish to leave our history Of the twelve years that have rolled by. As we began our first year of learning With Misses Kitty Taylor and Roberson as our guides. We learned our ABC ' s, numbers, And many things with pride. The Second grade we entered with great joy, Still small girls and boys we were. Very polite students we became, For we learned to say yes-mam and yes-sir. We entered the Third grade with some difficulty, Right hard we all thought it was, But to get by we were right lucky, Because the teachers liked us so much. The Fourth grade we all liked well. Because there was no one that failed, Although examinations were right hard, We made our step forward. The Fifth grade seemed a little different Because we found some new friends left for us there. We all certainly did appreciate them. And our interests with them we did share. A little difficult were the Sixth and Seventh, But we all seemed to succeed, We went to the Eighth Seeming to be pleased. In the Eighth the changing of classes gave us some trouble, And in the Ninth the troubles begin to double. Spite was always thrown at us, Because all the teachers did was fuss. The Tenth gave us a new teacher. Miss Mitchell, And new pupils, Shirley Faye and Carolyn, Much knowledge we gained in biology that year, And two boys left us to go to Critz and Blue Ridge. In the Eleventh Sidney joined us. This year we enjoyed much, A wonderful teacher and the banquet we all did prepare. For the seniors and faculty to share. Many new adventures we have had in the Twelfth, We hope a good name we have left. Mrs. Hazelwood has been so nice to us, And Mr. Wfitkins has been a great help. So we leave our best wishes for all who remain. And hope we all can meet again. For all these years have been so great, Its more than we can appreciate. Historians: REBECCA and ELVA
