Prophecy I came from the Pentagon Building after a hard days work. I was met at the door by my roommate, Shirley Faye Stone, who was all excited. Look, she said, an invitation to the Inaugural Ball. You can imagine how surprised and happy we were that Bruce Moorefield, the elected President of 1964, had not forgotten his old class of ' 54. As we entered the Ball Room that night, just whom do you think were the first persons we saw? Kenneth Goard and Bobby Hall, whom President Moore¬ field had appointed Attorney General and Secretary of State, so he could tell them what to do for a change. As I turned around, I was whirled onto the dance floor by William Thomp¬ son whom I had not seen since my High School days. I was surprised to learn that he was now the Editor of the New York Times. As we were dancing we bumped into Betty Willard and Sidney Spahr. Sidney had just won the Grand Champion National Dairy Show. Betty who liked geometry so well in high school is now a geometry teacher. Just then a loud voice boomed out over the loud speaker, whom we rec¬ ognized as John Clark (Secretary of Agriculture) who was acting as Master of Cermonies. He announced that a special dance would be given by Betty Foley, who had just finished a musical comedy, TOO OLD TO KISS, with Donald O ' Conner. Following the dance a beautiful piano solo was given by Harold Hopkins, the famous concert pianist. Pushing my way toward the refreshment table I bumped into Fern Soyars. I learned from her that she had acquired the all time record in typing—300 words a minute. She told me that Marie was now the manager of the Elastic Plant, at Stuart, and was unable to attend because of her work. By this time it was getting late, so I began to look for Shirley Faye. I found her in the midst of a large group. They were praising her on her painting of the Stuart High School, which had been placed in the modern art section of the National Art Gallery. Dragging her away from her admirers, I got her started home. I told her about all the classmates that I had seen and then she began to tell me about one she had seen. Edna Williams has run Martha Carson out of business and has her own T. V. shows. Erlene Turner has overcome her shyness and is now quite a glamour girl. Darlyne Light, who is now Mrs. Dud Clark, is living a quiet life at Stuart, Virginia.
