Rl. C. e icafion .... We, the Class of 1953, affectionately dedicate our annual to Miss Mary Campbell, whose wonderful talent and original ideas have aided and inspired us through our years at Stuart Hall. We shall always re- member her cheerful, friendly presence in the art studio and her contri- butions to school life. I am sure that you Seniors of 1953 have many times given thought to the fact that you are graduating in the lltlth year of Stuart Hall. I feel that, as a class, you have been especially appreciative of the background and the traditions which surround the school you will so soon leave. These have had their share in your life here quite as much as have the academic work and the many activities. You have made your contribution to these traditions, to t.he standards, to the last- ing features of the school life, and the contribution has been helpful and valu- able. I feel that as you individually have gained strength-intellectual and spirit- ual-you have in turn strengthened the organizations which have come under your influence. We at Stuart Hall shall remember this class of the 110th year with apprecia- tion, and shall follow your careers in college and beyond with the keenest interest. We Spend Our Years As Thoughts of leaving home are soon for- gotten after greeting one's roommate and meeting numerous new girls. Old and new girls alike look forward to the coming year with anticipation. Two daily trips to the post office bring a contented feeling when the all-important letter arrives For the lucky ones there is a scurry after lunch to receive packages. lfach day offers new and varied activi- ties. At the Old Girl-New Girl party last- ing friendships have their beginning. Sup- per on the Heights, gatherings in the Tack Room with friends, Sunday afternoon dates are the small yet unforgettable moments which endear Stuart Hall to us all. After the impressive installation of new lied and XYhite team members. comes the choosing of team members for a vast num- ber of sports. The National llockey Tourf nanient and the familiar cry, Chop-chopY , remind us of a most exciting hockey sea- son. ln addition to the tea dance, the Cotillion Club sponsors the fall formal. lllack dress- es, military tigure, lovely decorations bring to mind a starry night which passed all too quickly. Thanksgiving. Late breakfast. church, a hockey gante between two closely matched teams add spirit to the holiday. A turkey dinner followed by the Faculty recital cli- maxes the day: it is the cherry on a sundae. The gay and festive season of Christmas is ntost memorable. lfvents are many and varied. The Dramatic Club presented T110 Cl1ri.s'f111u.v Pearl. The Sophomores enter- tained us at a delightful party, complete with Santa Claus and candy. The Seniors invited the school to celebrate the lighting of the Yule Log at their Open House. And on the last night before our departure, the lovely Candlelight Service. Happy voices ring through the halls, wishing Merry Christmas to all, anfl to all a Good Night.
