' trips... ! 529 25 E57 V E FSW Around the first of December each school year, we see something that lets us know that Christmas is just around the corner. That sight is the Christmas tree! Not an extravagant tree with ornaments, garland, tinsel, and an angel on top-just a simple tree. But it served its purpose. lt launched the start of decorations, Christmas trees, Santa Claus, ho-ho-ho, and the whole works. Another thing worth mentioning about the tree is that it stayed lit 24 hours a day. A nighttime passer-by would attest to this! And it remained aglow all throughout the Christ- mas vacation. When the new year was rung in and kids trampled back to school on January 3rd, the lights were turned off, yet the tree still lstood.
