Seniors just betore singing the National Anthem at the NHS assembly. ,f 'C-M, 0' Nancy Ellis and Rick larussi maintained 4.0 averages throughout high school? ..YeD.,, Did they do anything besides study? ' Yep. The following is the result of a questionnaire given to Nan and Rick. What has working with the handicapped meant to you? Nan: I learned to get up every day and give thanks that I was able to do simple things-like walk and talk. I also found that giving up my time to others-regardless of whether they were handicapped or not-made me happier than anything else in the world. As a result, I think I care just as much, if not more, about other people than I do about myself. Rick: Working with handicapped and retarded children has meant a great deal in that, when I think of my own problems, I look at them with theirs, and seeing how they tackle them makes me realize the insignificance of my own. lt's also given me a chance to meet some wonderful people that like to help others. What is the funniest tprintablej experience of your High School career? Nan: Getting locked in the lockerroom during halftime of the Struthers-Warren Western Reserve Basketball game. No one noticed I was missing until it was nearly time to start. I got out and ran onto the floor just before the jumpball. she wanted to see who was at football practice. What plans have you made for the future? Nan: l'll be attending Ohio University, the Honors Tutorial College, Department of Mathematics. Rick: l'll be attending YSU, Phase I for my B.S.!M.D., North- eastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Class Time!!!
