Ronald .layne practices before critical spee ch class. r effdmfeeemf How can peace be best obtained in our troubled world?,' This question was answered time and time again as the indi- vidual speakers of Struthers High delivered their Prince of Peace speeches. The Prince of Peace contest is sponsored yearly by the Ohio Council of Churches. The participant memorizes and interprets a college-winning essay on the subject of peace. Early in the year a series of practice tournaments are held. This year one was held at Struthers High. The ensuing con- tests are Usudden death. If a person doesn't get a first place, he is automatically eliminated. Several prizes are given. Local winners receive bronze medalsg county winners, silver medalsg district winners, a gold medal and a trip to the U.N. The district winner then advances to the semi-finals. Those obtaining the finals are guaranteed at least 5550. Top prize in the state is S200 and a four year scholarship. As always, Struthers was very well represented.
