George Hall and Dick Cannon in photo finighl One of the high spots of the school year was the First Annual Sports Assembly sponsored by the Varsity-S Club. Members of the boys' gym classes and the Freshman Track Team partici- pated. When points were totaled at the end of the afternoon, the seniors and freshmen were tied with 42 points each. The juniors had 28 points and the sophomores had 5. Awards were presented after the track meet in an assembly featuring Reverend Bob Richards, Olympic pole vaulter. George Hall was presented a trophy for being the most valuable competitor, with 121A3 points. Before Reverend Richards concluded the assembly with an inspiring address, Ben Bruno, Varsity-S president, presented him a plaque which made him an honorary member of the club.
