School life is like a ladder which every student must clirnh. Each class is a rung on this ladder. Wlieri, as eighth graders, you started here at Struth- ers, you found yourselves at the lrase of this ladder pre- paring to make that long clinih. But each step had to he taken carefully and with perseverance. Each step hrought you nearer the top, hut the higher you went the harder you had to work. Along the way you learned much. ln addition, each succeeding class lelt you some experience or knowledge it had gained. During your climlm you, too7 have gained a great deal which will he your ladder to a lretter life when you are graduated. The education you receive here is the support upon which your whole later life rests. You will always rememlmer that climlr as the lmesl years of your life.

You, the members of the sophomore class. early this year discovered a secret of vast im- portance. All this year you carefully guarded this valuable secret. However, somehow it leaked out and now everyone knows the secret for suc- cess. What is the sec1'et?Shard workg that is the formula for success. You sophomores certainly made use of this formula for winning friends, fame, and fortune. Working very hard on every job before you. Soon, even to your own amazement, you saw how easy it is to accomplish your objectives when you work with a willingness to co-operate and to get the job done. So. at the end of this year. you sophomores can look back and say with pride, one more job well done by the class of 1960? 20 After one year of background. you the fresh- man class faced your first year of high school. Realizing that there was much to be gained dura ing your four years here at Struthers you set your goals high. Following the examples of per- severance and hard work set by previous classes, you strived to reach these goals. Under the leadership of the new class officers and spon- sor you got off to a good start working very hard to make your activities for this year a success. The desire to do a good job which you have shown this year will be a great blessing to in the future.
