CLUB One ol the many clubs which was organized b5 the Student Council was the Girls' Pep Club In all its activities, it endeavored to Brfore each game there was a soecial oep meeting for the entire student body led by our cneer leaders Baloara Links, Bernadine Porter, and n wls Arnold Che girls sold basketoall schedule pencils in order to Ilnance their act1v1t1es The Pep Club helped malntaln a uniform interest in Stronghurst' S athletic contests, it fGTt1f16d student morals it added in fact, an es entl l ingredient to tnc nlgh school life of the normal 1Hd1V1du8l Officers are President, Liligene Hixson Vice President, Betty Bowen Secretary and T easurer, Marilyn Logan, Adviser Miss Scott SPORTS LUB Along with the rest of the clubs th t were organized at the first of the school ye r, 1941, was the Sports club It included most of the boys or high school and Mr Harris agreed to be the leader of our group. At the first meeting the following officers were elected President Frank Winter V133 President Donald Gilliland Secretary Treasurer - Charles Richey The rules of the club were set up and comittees were appointed to build ping pong tables and to take care of the equipment. Because of so many other school activities, and because of insuf- ficient funds the construction of the tables was not started till rather late. However, the committee did get one good table built. Plans for other sports, such as target practice, archery, hiking, and dart throwing, were discussed. But since our meetings were fewand far between, extensive plans were not made.
