Assistant Principals Mr. Gdaniec makes sure the school Mr. Gdaniec is ready and runs smoothly. willing. Mr. Joseph Gdaniec spent many years learning his profession. He first graduated from Gannon University with a B.A. in mathematics and went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh where he received a Masters in Education in the secondary level. He also attended Edinboro and the State University of New York at Fredonia for Graduate work. These impressive credentials are what make him such a professional in his field. Mr. Gdaniec entered his chosen field as a math teacher and dedicated the last twenty years of his life trying to improve the school system. Eight of those twenty years he has spent as Assistant Principal here at Vincent. His reasons for staying here are simple; he thinks this school is excellent, despite the declining enrollment, and he enjoys the students. He has a high opinion of the student body, defining them as “pleasant” and “mature at making decisions.” Overall he feels that “Strong Vincent has a fine reputation and has maintained excellent standards” and as a result he is “proud of its graduates in a tradition that has lasted through generations.” The 1985-86 school year marks the first full year with our new assistant principal, Miss Joyce Savocchio. Appropriately, Miss Savocchio is a 1961 graduate of Strong Vincent. Her credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in History and secondary education from Mercyhurst, as well as a Master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a certificate in Secondary School Administration from Edinboro University. Although she misses teaching tenth grade History, Miss Savocchio says that being an assistant principal is a very “challenging” and “creative experience” for her as she has the opportunity to see the best in our student body. Sometimes the job of assistant principal can be very demanding, but Miss Savocchio claims she enjoys working with people, and with our fantastic students here at Strong Vincent. She feels our school is operating very well this year as kids are making an effort to gain an education. Despite the many things to be done and the variety of problems she sees, Miss Joyce Savocchio has become a great asset to our school administration.

Principal Fiorelli The students of Strong Vincent are proud to have Mr. Raymond Fiorelli as their hardworking and loyal principal. It is fortunate for this school to have a principal who supports the activities of the students and staff wholeheartedly. Mr. Fiorelli feels his staff is the finest in the school district and that the students are all unique, creative, and full of potential. Although his job can be very demanding, he claims that the pressures he faces are worth it and he wouldn’t trade his work for anything. In spite of graduating from Cathedral Prep, Mr. Fiorelli’s loyalty to Strong Vincent is unshakable. Our students are indeed priveleged to have such a man as the base and stronghold of such a fine school as Strong Vincent. Mr. Fiorelli accepts a gift from the Japanese delegation. Our principal smiles at the yearbook staff’s efforts.
