The Student Council of Strong Vincent High School en- courages and promotes the practice of good citizenship both in and out of school, Creating a respect for law and order, and demonstrating the responsibilities expected of future Americans, the Council provides a real service to the school community. The rules of the Board of Education and the Vin- cent faculty are a guide to preserving the high standards of our school. With representation from each home room. and additional delegates-at-large from the senior high. it presents a picture of democracy in action. Eligible students muSt maintain at least average grades and have passed all subjects the previous semester. Members must attend all meetings, and report business transacted to their home rooms. The Student Council is given the power to award athletic letters and other honors. to conduct fund raising drives which 10

The Strong Vincent Council holds more authority than most student governing bodies in Pennsylvania. It belongs to each of us, and it is the duty of every student to respect, uphold and support its high ideals. During the past year, the Student Council has sponsored several activities which were enjoyed by the students. In December the variety show and dance, The Brown Barn x., Bounce, netted several hundred dollars for the treasury. Equally successful was the spring variety show, Operation U. S. O. that was given in March. Do you remember the tantalizing aroma of freshly roasted peanuts that poured from room 114, advertising Prom Peanut Week, a successful Council project?
