BELL Mathematics Science Science Science For each of you graduating from Strong Vincent, my hope is that you will enjoy a long and richly satisfying life. Each person's lite holds promise of exciting developments but the next fifty years intrigue one with their potential greatness. The telescope at Palomar is giving us knowledge of space. Atomic fission and fusion have indicated tremendous new sources of power to do man's bidding. Many diseases have already been con- trolled and new discoveries may make mankind free of crippling illnesses. Man has learned how to increase his food supply, and better nutrition for all seems a possibility. Civilizations must learn to live in peace with one another. Will this too, be accomplished in your lifetime? I trust that all undergraduates will find their experiences, here at Strong Vincent, both profitable and enjoyable. The edu- cational level of the average American has already passed the eleventh grade. The future demands more and better education for all.
