DR. LEROY BARBER Leroy E. Garber a member of the Vincent mathematics deparfrrient -- -er -.ward-sd a Doctur of Education degree at the Feb-.it .-, i.ini-fc-sity of Pittsburgh convocation. He has completed i,is :gr-I ti.. -f work in the fields of secondary education and adn . i sa'-: -cn. Dr. Ssrber received his :iploma from Erie East in 1998, ' B. b ii Education degree from Edinboro State Teachers Lvl' ge 2, 1033, and a Master of Education degree from the t.lr.iveesity of Pittsburgh in 1941. ln addition, he has taken graduate v--orl. at the -,i'ii'feis:ty of Southern California, and hc has attended the Eazxern Coaching Clinic conducted by Clair Bee of Long l rind University. The later experir -.e -.fvas put to good use during the basketball season of 19-time ' ', whcn he coached the Vincent Varsity to a shared title with Prep. He retired from coaching et the end of that season, content to rest on his laurels. Dr. Barber started hi. teaching career at Tech l-ligh in 1937, he was transferred to Roosevelt Junior Hi h in 1949, and later became a memfyzr of the Vincent facuilty. His t'ta hing duties were interrupted for the two year geriud 194, 45, during which time he saw service in the ield Artillery. AUDREY MEHNE Audrey Mehne, Y-Teen Presi- dent and champion twirler, was elected the president of the Tri- Council last fall. The Tri-Council is composed of officers from the cabinets of the various high schools in this district, and strives for direct- ing club activities and work for the spirit of friendliness and co-opera- tion among girls. Long active in Y-Teens, Audrey attended the Ysleen conference last summer held at Camp Forty SALLY GRIESBACH Sally Griesbach was the highest scorer in the school bowling league. Although she had bowled only one year, she was elected captain of the Colonels team this year. Her average was 127, with Q00 the highest game bowled. Acres, and she also attended the winter conference held at Brad- ford, Pennsylvania. I 1 2 A lr., . .3-fix KEREN SCHLURAFF At the City Recreation Girls' Swimming Meet, Keren Schluraff was awarded one of three trophies, given on basis of ability, leadership, and sportsmanship. In her first parti- cipation at this meet, Keren took first place in diving, second in freestyle, and was one of the four girls in the relay which broke the previous record.
