MISS ERMA WEINHEIMER Miss Weinheimer, Weinie to all who know her, is the proud owner of a key for meritorious service in the field of physical education , as it reads. She received this key as a token of the esteem in which she is held by the Pennsylvania State Association for l-lealth, Physical Education and Recreation. As further evidence ofthe stature she has attained in the field of physical education, she has been elected Secretaryalreasurer of this state-wide organization, For the school year 1948-49. Weinie was further honored this year when the Red Cross to whom she has given so much of her time and skill, awarded her the Ten Year Service Medal for her work in such activities as First Aid and Water Safety. lt is small wonder then that MISS ERMA XXfElNl-lElMEl2 ap- pears in our honor pages. 0 ' IN S YLVANI Wai Uv 12 MARY ANN RICKLOFF Mary Ann Rickloll had the highest average in the Strong Vincent Bowling League for Girls. ln spite of the fact that this was Mary Ann's first year of bowl- ing, her average was 1Q8, with 181 the highest game rolled.

SHERMAN COHN Sherman received a four-year half tuition scholarahip to Gannon College as a result of submitting the prize winning essay, entitled Tolerance , in Gannon's Erie County Youth Looks at America Contest, which was open to all Erie County students. . Kim., J. ,gif SAM CIANFLOCCO Sam Ciantlocco was selected by the Erie Times as the outstanding high school athlete of 'I948 . l-le earned four letters in football, three letters in baseball and two in bas- ketball during his high school days., ln his senior year, Sam was chosen Captain of Vincent's city-championship base- ball team, and served as acting captain on the football team. Sam patrolled center field for the Vincent Hninen and received the Jewish War Veterans Trophy as rhe most valuable player in the scholastic league. On the football squad Sam played at a tackle position, captained the West All- Star team, and was chosen on every all-scholastic team. 11

JIM DAVIS Jim Davis, a senior, is Vincent's track and basketball star. I-le was high scorer in the District 1O Track Meet, takin top honors in the high hurdles and broad jump and leading his team to the District Championship in 1948. Jim captained the Colonels' 1948-49 basketball team and was high scorer in the city and in the entire Section I with a total of 155 points. Voted the most valuable player for the the city, he was awarded a trophy by the Jewish War Vet- erans. Jim was selected unanimously For All-Scholastic Basket- ball and was selected for All-State honorable mention. JY' ?' MARK WILLIAMS This year Mark, Vincent's aquatic ace, received the Jewish War Veteran's Trophy as the outstanding scholastic swimmer of the year. I-'le will also receive honorable mention on the All-American lnterscholastic Team-a rare achievement. l-le has been a member of the swimming squad for four years, being captain his senior year. l-le holds the Vincent pool record in the 100 yahrd breast stroke, and he also broke the Western Regional P. l. A. A. record in the event in the breath-taking time of 1:O4.8. BOB FOGLE Bob is one of Vincent's versatile athletes and artists. I-le was an outstand- ing half back on the Ped and Black this year, setting the scoring record for the 1948-49 season in the city. I-le was a member of the Dispatch-l-lerald All- Scholastic team and took part in the All-Star game. This spring he burned up the track, the 1OO yard dash, QOO yard dash and low hurdles being his terrifying specialty. I-le is also a member ofthe National Afhletic Scholarship Society. ln the field of art he recently won one of the prizes given by the Federated Garden Clubs of Erie County, and has done much of the fine poster work seen all about the School. 13
