Drilling in the heat of a hot July day is not the usual idea of summer fun. However, band members attended a drill camp at school during July, drilling on the hot asphalt parking lot at school. During August, while other students were tak- ing their last flings at Port A, band members were learning and then perfecting their new routines. With half time drawing near, John Radarte gears up for the performance to be given. Band members gave up much free time to be able to give a good half time performance. Precision manhmy takes iiiui ii concentration and practice. Kim Voelkel and other flag corps members understand that dur- ing the extra practices called during the summer and after school. Band 57
