Behind every move a class makes lies the work of its sponsors. oflicers and executive committees. In this space, we would like to extend our congratulations to all officers and representatives on their successful efforts throughout our high school career. Special thanks goes to those who have served us during this trying senior year. Our officers were: Don Adams. THE CLAS president: Arnold Wittner, vice president: Janet Petko. secretaryg Jack Spangler, treasurer. The home room representatives who comprised this year's executive committee were: Alice Berta, Dorothy Dutko, Marolyn Hansen, Mary Ann Kosley, George Moore, Muriel Rees, William Trapp, and Louise Yusko. Lastly, we wish to express our appreciation to Mr. Ritcher, our class sponsor, and to his associates for the wonderful co-operation and help we have received from them. Also, we feel that Mrs. Patterson and Mr. McAdams deserve special mention even though they did not complete four years of work with us. Mrs. Patterson spent our senior year in England, where she was an exchange teacher, and Mr. McAdams was re- called to military service after only two years at Streator High School. We, the class of '53, wish to take this opportunity at the close of our high school career to thank you, Mr. Ritcher, our class sponsor, for being such a wonderful help throughout these four tedious years. Through your pa- tience and understanding, we have accomplished the superlative in class activities. No matter how impossible our ideas were, your easy-going attitude never changed. We feel honored to have had such a swell fellow as you for a class sponsor, and our hope is that we can fulfill the hopes of your message: I am very happy to be associated with the class of 1953. It is my sin- cere hope that the foundation you have built in school will remain steady in the days to come. You are the promise- you are the leaders of the democratic society of tomorrow.
