The International Relations Club marching along, with Washington, D. C. as their goal. Meetings were held in the evening on the first Thursday of every month. The programs consisted of panel discussions and debates. The Christmas program con- sisted of skits depicting Christmas in other lands. At one of the early meetings the club enjoyed the showing of the kodachromes taken by Miss Bash and Miss Butz during their trips through Europe. The first project was a mock national election with the aim to better educate the students on how to conduct an election. Two days before election day representa- tives visited the home rooms with regis- tration blanks for anyone wishing to vote. On election day the four corners of the gym were used as the precincts for fresh- man, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The polls were open from 7:30 a. m. until 4 p. m. The results were the reverse of the national election. You guessed it-the Republicans won. A momentous undertaking, a trip to Washington, D. C. for thirty members and several chaperones, was decided upon early in the year. The club went all-out to finance this trip. They sold magazine subscriptions, had concession stands at the basketball games, and sold home made candy. The grand finale was the successful presentation of a musical revue, The World Follies , with a cast of 50 students. The skit was written by the club mem- bers and directed by Karl Brix III.
