K' A 1 STREATOR TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL IQO2 1923 Qtudents enroll1ng 1n the fall of 1902 found adequate room for new act1v1t1es A large assembly hall well equlpped sclence laboratorles lec ture room and several class rooms made up the new add1t1on The cur r1culum was enlarged cooklng and manual tralnmg classes belng formed at th1s tlme and the school was placed on the accredlted l1st of colleges and un1vers1t1es In 1917 howexer the enrollment hax mg steadlly lncreased It was necessary to find more room so the house across the street was purchased converted lnto class rooms and was known as the Annex These quarters were soon filled to overflowlng so ln 1921 after heated dlscusslon the bonds were woted for the constructlon of a new school In May 1923 the ground was nrst bloken and constructlon started The orlglnal bulldlng was dlsmantled and for the next two years classes convened in the Annex and the addltlon of 1902 Dlflicultles arose and constructlon proceeded slowly Qometlmes It seemed as lf the bulldmg would never be completed but ln September of thls year over SIX hundred students attended classes ln our beautxful new school and on November 16 lt was dedlcated wlth flttlng ex 91 C1395 The class of 1926 has had the benefit of one year 1n the completed school durlng whlch tlme lt has been able to uphold the standards set by precedmg classes and to advance lll manv llnes Wxth our graduatlon approxlmately elghteen hundred students w1ll haxe recelv ed dlplomas from our school Almost ex e1v professmn clalms the gladuates The practlce of med1c1ne dentlstry and law the drama muslc and art the mlnlstry government SGFVICG farmmg teachmg buslness manufacturlng IH all these our graduates ale successful and they mav be found 1n almost all of the states of the umon and many forelgn countrles VT fx ,, !,f ' 1 L . . . 7 7 . . . - ' v s 1 1 Y l ' L L f n - 7 ' . 1 Y Y. .
