He has gained the respect and admiration of many students and will continue to do so. He is not only an excellent administrator, but also a friend to everyone. We, the Senior Class, extend our thanks and appreciation for his continued interest in the students of Straughn High School. I. X Guidance Counselor ANNA LANGSTON Anna Langston has been a great help to the students of Straughn High School. Present problems and future plans are often discussed with her. Mis Langston also was responsible for Career Night and College Night which were very educational to students. Money earned selling candy was sent to Riley Hospital, and at Easter time a party was given for a ward at the Richmond State Hospital. Greeting cards are sent to people of the com- munity throughout the year. Each year an ldeal Lady from the community is chosen by the society. The Ideal Lady of 1965 was Mrs. Cliff Swim and Mrs. Merle Cromwell was chosen for 1966. A member must also have an outstanding character, be a leader and be of service to the community. The mem- bers of the Honor Society had as a project giving parties for the patients at the State Hospital in New Castle. In March they sponsored a dance for the student body.
