OUR TRIP TO OKOTOKS One day the class and I went to Okotoks. We got on the van and rode into Okotoks. We went to Ellis' house. Then we went to see the church that Ellis' dad works in. It looked old. We saw the fire station and there are only two fire trucks in it. One is for the country and one is for Okotoks. We went to the wheat elevators. Only one man works there, but when the wheat comes in there are three or four men working there. We found out that there are only two banks in Okotoks. Next we went to the river. The river was called Sheep River. Then we went to the bakery and got some doughnuts. We walked to Mrs. Foster's house and ate the doughnuts. Then the van came and picked us up. We went back to the school. It was a nice day. David Sedgewick Grade 3. STUDYTNG PIONEERS We made butter on Friday, last week. We saw things that pioneers used to make butter. We put cream in jars and a little of John's milk that would turn. Only John's and Tony's turned. We made ice-cream. Mrs. Kaul brought an ice-cream maker. We made and ate ice-cream. We also saw a spinning-wheel, an old-fashioned foot-warmer, hairpins, a spoon and some guns. Randall Moore Grade 2. EGGS I like poached eggs, scrambled eggs, hard or soft boiled eggs, Swiss eggs, eggs in white sauce, Polish eggs, any kind of eggs even Scottish eggs and Eggs Benedict. I love all kinds of eggs!
