BARBARA GRINNELL (Barb) “It wasn ' t easy.” Activities: Part-time job, Sunday School teacher. Ambition: Home Economics teacher. Pet Peeves: Homework on week ends and people who say “Hurry-up”. DIANNE EDITH HAMILTON (Jo) “Oh, good!” Activities: M.I.A., chatting. Awards: Academic award in Grade VIII. Ambition: Degree in Animal Husbandry. Pet Peeve: People who don’t act their age. KEVIN IIANNA “Don’t mess around.” Activities: Swimming, photography. Ambition: To pass French 30 and go to University. Pet Peeve: Teachers who give tests on Friday. BURCKHARD W. HANTEL (Burck) “A chip on the shoulder indicates wood higher up.” Activities: Science Club, Electronics. Ambition: Electronic Engineering. Pet Peeve: Bicycle-riding to school. ROBERT HARDY (Bob) “Better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.” Activities: Hunting, fishing, track and field, hockey, mountain climbing. Awards: North American Indoor Speed Skating. Provincial Track and Field 1959. Pet Peeve: Brothers. MARIE DARKER “To be a friend is to have a friend.” Activities: Swimming, Newspaper (Blotter), Dancing. Past Glories: Second prize in an elocution contest in Kindergarten. Pet Peeve: Doing homework on the week end. MARTHA JANE HARRINGTON “I’ve attended 26 schools in five States before coming to Canada, four years ago.” Activities: Art classes at the Art Gallery, Church, Poster making. Awards: Grade XI Academic Award. Past Glories: Passed Latin 20 and Phys. Ed. 10. Ambition: To pass Latin 30 and Physics 30, and to study Art further. Pet Peeve: Certain young ladies who come into classes late, talk aloud, and read library books in Student Teachers’ classes. DIANNE CAROLE HARRIS (Di) “Live life to its fullest extent and you will be happiest.” Activities: Hi-C, Badminton, Modelling Club. Ambition: To graduate from the University Hospital as a Lab Technician. Pet Peeves: Sisters, and clothes that don’t match. LINDA HAWKE (Lin) “It’s easier said than done.” Activities: Curling, Bowling, President of C.G.I.T. Ambition: To be a good secretary. Pet Peeve: People she knows that don’t speak to her. Ambition: Social Welfare combined with the ministry. DAVID GALBRAITH (Dave) “Little girls should be seen and not heard.” Activities: Badminton, swimming, all sports. Awards: Two academic awards. Ambition: To live some place where it is warm all year. Pet Peeves: English essays, dull week ends. SYLVIA MARY GEE (Penny) Ambition: To take Home Economics at the U. of A. Activities: Art Club, Modelling Club, Booster Club. LOUISE GEORGE (Slugger) “I’m gonna be a wheel some day.” Activities: A.Y.P.A. Past Glories: Made it to Grade XII. Ambition: Cashier at Dominion Stores. Later on, marriage. Pet Peeve: Teachers with no sense of humour. GILBERT GIBB (Gil) It’s a good life if you weaken a little.” Activities: Bowling, skiing, Wendy. Awards: Church Attendance. Past Glories: Found the right girl. Ambition: To get my Ph.D. Pet Peeve: Life, Monday tlrrough Friday only. MARGARET KATHLEEN GILBERT (Marg) “If a learner hasn’t learned, the teacher hasn’t taught.” Activities: Swim Club, Modelling Club, Art Club, Red Cross Club, Sunda; School Teacher, A.Y.P.A. Ambition: B. of Education at U. of A., take a trip to Europe. Pet Peeves: Meetings that drag, getting up early. MARTIN GLAZERMAN “Do unto others before they do it to you.” Activities: Bowling, Army, rifle shooting. Pet Peeve: Teachers who give too much homework over week ends.
