' • ' ,i  • ,?- :.•? .- ' . - KA ' ' V NOR ' WESTER STAFF ADVISORS Staff advisors have played a big role in getting the Nor ' wester ready each year. The staff advisor is the person really in charge of putting the yearbook together. They have certain deadlines they must meet, and they usually do, but there is an exception every now and then. They are very understanding, and would go a mile out of their way just to make sure that your yearbook arrives on time. Staff advisors are very helpful in telling the editor what he thinks is best to go where. They always seem to come up with a new and better way to produce your yearbook. And finally I would like to say, they are very smart and friendly people. This year Northwestern is paying tribute to three of our staff advisors, Mrs. Mulholland, Mr. Dickinson and Mr. Eraser. YEARBOOK EXECUTIVES FRONT ROW— David MacFadden, Lynne Marklevitz, Bruce Curtis, Julie Leis. BACK ROW— Mr. Walker, Mr. Fraser, Mr. Werner. YEARBOOK ADVERTISING Mr. Walker and Mr. Werner are in charge of yearbook advertising. Each year the students of BMK 341go out and sell ads to stores and companies in the Stratford area. Last year they sold over $1700.00 in advertisements, which cuts the cost of the Nor ' wester down to the students. i i r i f    t  i  t ) t t t  t i YEARBOOK TYPISTS FRONT ROW— Ingrid Noeske, Susan Liedtke, Joan Leyser, Jane Mitchell, Pauling Ness, BACK ROW— Pat Cullaton, Sheila Gill, David MacFadden, Kathy Kelly, Gerda GroothuLzen. EDITOR ' S MESSAGE There is an old sajang ttiat goes something like this: School days are the best days of your life. The Yearbook staff just hopes that the ' 75 NorWester will help you realize this in years to come. The purpose of a yearbook is to provide stu- dents with a permanent vwritten and pictorial re- cord of happenings at Northwestern during their school years. Many enjoyable work meetings were filled with the activities connected with the yearbook. The work involves layout and design, typing up of material, proofreading and paste-up. It takes a nucleus of interested students to produce a suc- cessful edition. The people to whom we direct our very sin- cere thanks for this edition are: Mr. Fraser for guiding us through each stage of the development of the yearbook, Mr. Werner who headed year- book sales, Mr. Walker, advertising and Mrs. Francom, typing. Thanks to the teachers and office staff who gave us the co-operation that we needed, to the class representatives and the students who made it financially possible for us to edit this issue. Even though it would be impossible to hst the names of everyone involved, I would be remiss in not saying a sincere thank-you to everyone wjio helped in any way. We hope that the ' 75 Nor ' wester will bring the best of memories of those unforgettable school days in years to come. YOUR ' 75 NOR ' WESTER EDITOR L YNNE MARKLEVITZ AJpr ADVERTISEMENT AROUND THE SCHOOL This year a lot of wrok was done to promote yearbook sales around the school. People in Graphic Arts were busy printing up two posters, while people on the yearbook committee made up some three sided boxes and himg them in the cafeteria. The two posters that were made were distributed aroimd the school. A calendar was also made and each home-room teacher received one to hand in his or her room for promotion of the yearbook. I do think the people who worked on these projects worked very hard and deserve some credit for a job well-done. m bminisitration %r -V l u ' WINKY BRIGHT ♦BUSHY WRIGHT . i.,o ' fSj -. l±L] If- A ' 9 E. Bob was the sole supporter of the Montreal team, Mary Anne might have taken up acting as she loved playing a salon girl in a play. Mike probably w ould have been a bus driver as he made frequent trips to the front of the N. S. bus. Tony had goals of becoming a mathematican as he had his calculator posed ready to go all the time. Among the family who weren ' t mentioned where the many Aunts and Uncles. Uncle Kennyand Aunt Marilyn were planning on leaving the family temperarily, but Uncle Brian, Uncle Billy, Uncle Ronny, Uncle Joe, Uncle Johnny, Uncle Brucie, Uncle Ed, Aunt Kathy, Aunt Janie and Aunt Barb were all planning on staying with the Family waving the iron stick were Grandpa Pete and Grandpa Dave keeping everyone in line. STUDENTS: We think you will appreciate that you are living in one of the most beautiful cities in Canada. With its cultural activities and sporting and recreational facilities, Stratford is a most pleasant place to live. In order to keep Stratford growing, it is necessary to have new industries as well as healthy exist- ing ones. Your attitude toward your city is important. New industries like to locate where the citizens are proud of their City. Your enthusiastic support of Stratford as a place to live will encourage industrial growth — and further your own future. Stratford City Council. mentalHeaitn The Canadian Mental Health Association Anyone can have mental and emotional problems. Something can be done about them. Talk it over with someone who knows you. If he can ' t help there are others — psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers — who can help troubled people. There now is a psychiatric clinic at the Stratford Hospital. There is nothing wrong with needing or getting such help. Your family doctor can refer you for psychiatric consultation. The earlier you go for help, the better it is.
