INDUSTRIAL ARTS DEPARTMENT Heard melodies are sweet those unheard are sweeter At least thats the way many classes overlooking the Industrial Arts Department feel about the cacaphonous refrain that echo like an anvil chorus from its Interior Yet here our future lndustrialists are being forged here our future draftsmen architectural designers and printers are being formed With Stratford Highs practical training in Industrial arts our IA boys are ready to apply their knowledge In future work HOMEMAKING DEPARTMENT If at first you dont succeed try try again' So It goes In homemalung class How many times have we been late to our next class because we didnt get our batter mtxed right the first time? How often have we eaten burned charcoal instead of dellcious cake? Yet we profited by our mistakes and before the semester was over we no longer had to pour our mixtures down the dram or wish we had a pet dog to devour them We could also sung the saga of the pin pricked finger the crooked seam and the too long torso blouse Yes we have worn to class some of our own creations as our slull in sewing improved and showed us that experience IS a good teacher ,Ax 'S Katherine Parlr, Isabel McCobb Myra Buell. I' 5 f ,I MUSIC DEPARTMENT Without the band and without the choirs our life at Stratford High School would be incomplete, far what is more pleasant than listening to the lilting melodies emanating from the Music Room, or watching the peppy band formations at the football games? Remem- ber the various concerts and the excellent music at Christmas assembly with the A Cappella choir and the band stirring our hearts? The Music Department has afforded many with opportunities of being a part of these musical organizationsg others have shared the pep and joy which have been added to our school life.
